Aline Shalev (Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapist)
“My name is Aline and I`m from Brazil. I graduated as a Physiotherapist in December 2013, back in Brazil. When I moved to the UK in 2014 with my partner, I didn’t feel confident speaking English and then decided to put my career on hold, while improving my English.
As life goes, I found myself pregnant with my first child – we felt very blessed, but working as a Physiotherapist seemed a far away reality at that moment.
I started to pursuit my dream to start to work as a Physiotherapist in 2017 – I knew that helping people to achieve their potential was what I wanted to do, but as an immigrant, validating my diploma from Brazil to the UK was a crucial step.
I managed to get my first job as a Physiotherapist Assistant in 2018 while waiting for my HCPC registration to be accepted.
In 2019, my HCPC registration was accepted, and I became a Physiotherapist in the UK. Returning to practice wasn’t an easy road, but I can guarantee it was all worth it.”
