Information for children coming into hospital
Our Paediatrics team is run by Andrea Beaton who is a senior children’s doctor (Consultant Paediatrician) and Claire Murphy who is a senior children’s nurse (Matron).
There are many places in Kingston Hospital where you might need to be treated in an emergency and also if you have an appointment booked. Each area is a welcoming environment for children and young people where you are supported by the paediatric team.
Who will look after you
We are very lucky to be supported by a local charity called Momentum who provide funding, advice, support and information for children and their families and they also help to decorate the children’s areas in a fun way!
Momentum Children’s Charity is an independent charity supporting children with cancer and life-challenging conditions. Momentum’s Family Support Workers work alongside our paediatric team at Kingston Hospital, offering personally tailored support to the entire family both in hospital and at home. Their support includes counselling, creative therapies, family experiences and respite breaks. They also help improve the hospital environment by transforming bare, clinical areas into bright, child-friendly spaces.
