Staff COVID Swabbing Service

Important changes to lateral flow testing

Reporting a lateral flow test result:

From Monday 5 July staff need to report their lateral flow test results on the gov.uk website instead of using our online jotform.

Please register for an account – this allows you to report you work for Kingston Hospital Foundation Trust and to provide your staffing group. Once registered submitting your result in the future will be quicker as your details are saved. If you have any difficulties please call the NHS COVID Helpline on 119.

You should continue to complete a lateral flow test twice each week and to report your results within 24 hours, in line with the Public Health England requirement.

If you have a positive test result, please ensure you get a PCR test:

Ordering Lateral Flow Tests

If you still have lateral flow tests left, you should continue to use these tests, but report the results in the new way.

If you have run out of lateral flow tests or would like to start participating, we still have remaining stock of lateral flow testing kits at the Trust. Contact Stores on ext. 3320 if you would like a stock of lateral flow test kits for your department, or if you would like to collect a single box of lateral flow tests, please email paula.lyons4@nhs.net.

You can also order lateral flow testing kits from the gov.uk website. It’s easy to order…

·         Create an account (it only takes 2 minutes and will save you 5 minutes every time you need to order more test kits) or sign in if you already have an NHS login (one which you use to access health websites and apps that have the NHS login button)

·         When prompted, enter your area of work as ‘Acute (hospital) trust’, enter the NHS trust name, and your occupation

·         Enter your home address for your testing kits to be delivered to

A box of seven lateral flow tests will be posted to you within two days. The type of tests that you receive may vary, so it’s important to read the instructions each time you have a new box of kits delivered.

If you have any difficulties please call the NHS COVID Helpline on 119.

If you have any questions, please email jessica.lee-mcdowall@nhs.net. You can also call the NHS COVID helpline on 119, from any phone.

The NHS App is free to download and allows users to access some of their NHS records, including their COVID vaccination record and NHS COVID Pass. You may be asked to show your NHS COVID Pass to attend some events, or to travel abroad. The NHS App is different from the COVID-19 app, which is used for COVID contact tracing.
