When you or someone close to you has been diagnosed with cancer, money might not be one of the first things you think about. The good news is that there is help out there for you.
Having cancer can mean you have to claim benefits for the first time to help pay the bills or to meet extra expenses such as travelling to the hospital. This service is designed to help you access all the financial support you are entitled to.
We work in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support and Citizens Advice Croydon to support people affected by cancer.
We can help you understand what support is available to help you pay the bills or meet extra expenses. If you need more help, our advisers can help you complete applications for benefits and grants and will support you until you’re receiving what you’re entitled to.
Specialist advisors give free, confidential and impatial advice. The appointments are one to one where we can go through your paperwork and discuss the best course of action for you. During the pandemic face to face appointments are not held at the hospital. Please see the different ways to contact us below.
We may be able to access a grant from Macmillan cancer support for you or help with Personal independence forms, attendance allowance forms or blue badge applications.
We will work with you to identify the problems you are experiencing and advise you of your options.
