About Us
Being in hospital can be a time of anxiety for you and those close to you. At such times, you may ask questions about your life and what really matters. Having someone with whom to explore these issues, or to assist in providing an extra dimension of support during treatment, can help you and your family.
Whatever your culture, beliefs, life philosophy, race, gender or sexual orientation our Pastoral & Spiritual Support Team is here for you. We respond to anyone who asks, respecting each individual person’s beliefs and views, and are available 24/7 to provide:
• A confidential listening ear and companionship
• Someone with whom you can explore life questions and spiritual issues
• Support to follow your own faith traditions through rites, prayers or sacraments
• Contact with local communities and faith leaders
The Chapel and the male and female Multi-Faith Prayer Rooms are located on Level 4 Esher Wing. These are always open for quiet reflection or prayer both day and night.
Our Pastoral & Spiritual Support team ensures that specific rites, ceremonies and sacraments are made available. Patients can ask us to contact their own faith leaders if they wish, and most wards have assigned volunteer pastoral visitors who provide bedside support. To arrange a visit, please ask your nurse to contact the Duty Chaplain via the main hospital Switchboard.
