About Us

When one of your relatives dies, our Bereavement Office can supply a death certificate so you can register their death at the local Register Office.

You can make an appointment with us, at which one of our officers will guide you through the process. Appointments will be allocated as soon as the Medical Certificate of Cause of Death – to give it its full name – has been agreed and signed by the appropriate doctor.

This can sometimes take a few days but we do aim to complete this as soon as possible.

Occasionally a case may be referred to the Coroner’s Office for review, which can also cause a delay. Our office can advise you further if this affects you.

If you want to arrange a viewing, you can call us – or the mortuary, on 020 8934 2643/4. You have to make an appointment. This service can also be provided by your funeral director.
