Education: Dr Palombi qualified in Medicine in Universita La Sapienza in Rome, Italy in 1979.
In 1983 he specialised in Child Health and Wellbeing and in 1988 in Paediatrics in the same University.
Experience : Dr Palombi served as Medical Officer of the Italian Air Force for his National Service from 1980 to 1984.
After a brief experience as GP from 1981 to 1984, Dr Palombi worked in a Hospital in Rome from 1984 to 2011 as Paediatrician in Children Inpatients, Outpatients and Neonates Level 1.
From 1990 to 1994 Dr Palombi worked also as Paediatrician in a School for Children with Special Needs that was in a partnership with the Italian NHS.
In 2011 Dr Palombi joined the NHS as Consultant Paediatrician at Kingston Hospital.
In 2013 he also became Named Doctor for Looked After Children at Moor Lane Centre.
As a Junior Doctor in Italy Dr Palombi completed research the relationship between level of Ferritin during pregnancy and level of Hemoglobin (Hb) in the new born and a research on antigens of histocompatibility in Coeliac disease.
Teaching and publications: Dr Palombi taught General Pathology in the faculty of Nursing Science of Universita Cattolica in Rome from 1995 to 2003.
He is co-author with other colleagues of several publications on many subjects on Children Health and Paediatrics.
He has an interest in Safeguarding and in the psychological and physical needs of Unaccompanied Asylum Seekers Children.
