Dr Martin-Lopez graduated from Medicine in Universidad de Salamanca (Spain) and obtained a Master’s Degree in Neurosciences from the Universidad Autónoma in Madrid. He continued his studies in Madrid where he trained in neurophysiology at the Hospital Universitario Gregorio Marañón.
Clinical interests and treatments
Dr Martin-Lopez has recently joined the Neurology Department at Kingston Hospital where he is setting up the first Neurophysiology clinics to be held here. He also works at St George’s Hospital as a consultant neurophysiologist.
As part of the service development Dr Martin-Lopez will be offering a range of investigations, including: electromyography, nerve conduction studies, single fibre EMG, tremor analysis and EEG. Pathways and referral forms are being designed and links will be made available on the Neurology webpage for easy access to the forms once the clinics have been set up.
Research interests: Dr Martin-Lopez’s research interests include epilepsy, signal processing, peripheral nervous system diseases, movement disorders and basic neurosciences. He is completing his PhD in human focal epilepsy and a Physics degree.
