Professional background

Dr Joseph holds a BSc in physiology from Cardiff University. She completed her MBChB at Warwick university and then an MSc in critical care from Cardiff. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine.

Dr Joseph has a special interest in prehospital care and holds a diploma in the medical care of catastrophes from the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries.

Dr Joseph is one of Kingston’s medical examiners and holds the RCPathME.

She is also a member of the Royal Academy of Medical Educators.

Currently Dr Joseph is research lead for the intensive care unit and principle investigator for the HOT-ICU, RECOVERY and EUROBACT trials.

She is also the lead for the Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre at Kingston, which collates data on intensive care patients.
