Richmond and Lonsdale Community team

Hello! Welcome to Richmond and Lonsdale Community Midwifery team, please find below some information about the team.

Our lovely team consists of 9 Midwives (MW) and 3 Advanced Midwifery Support Workers (AMSW).

We cover postcodes TW9 and TW10 (Richmond) and SW13, SW14 and a very small patch of SW15 (Lonsdale).

We run Antenatal (AN) and Postnatal (PN) clinics  at various Children Centres (CC) and GP health centres within our patch.

Each midwife has her own clinic to promote continuity throughout the AN and PN period. Some of the team midwives also work within the Maternity Unit to provide care in labour at our Birth Centre or Delivery Suite.

Immediate PN care following discharge from hospital will be at your home and subsequent visits or appointments will be tailored to you and your baby’s individual needs. Some of the PN appointments will be at a clinic. We would expect that you will be seen by your midwife at some point following your baby birth before discharge either at home or at clinic . We can see you and baby up to 28 days but usually we discharge to care of Health Visiting team (HV ) at around 10-14 days after birth.
